The character’s name is ‘Locke’, who cuts off the hand of Jaime Lannister. This came after Jaime attempted to bribe him while being held captive. Jaime losing his hand becomes a major part of the storyline for the rest of the series.

4) During his bathtub scene with Brienne, who did Jaime reveal that he killed right before the Mad King?

Jaime revealed that he killed the pyromancer right before the Mad King. This will go down as one of the best scenes in the entire series.

The name of Jaime’s sword is ‘Widow’s Wail’. This was the former sword of Jaime’s son, Joffrey Baratheon. As a result of Joffrey’s death, Jaime ends up using the blade. The Casting Of Jaime Lannister

• Jaime Bamber reportedly auditioned for the role of Jaime Lannister. Bamber is probably best known for his role in Battlestar Galactica. He was eventually beaten out by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played the character for all 8 seasons.
• In a blog post back in 2009 when the role was officially given to Nikolaj, George R.R Martin noted that he would make a “terrific Jaime”.

Random Behind-The-Scenes Tidbits About Jaime & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

• Jamie Lannister appears in 55 out of a possible 73 episodes in the series. That puts him in 7th place in terms of the most episodes appeared in among cast members. He is behind Arya and Sansa Stark (59). Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and Daenerys Targaryan (62). Tyrion Lannister finished in first place (67).
• Even though Tyrion Lannister is the younger brother of Jaime in the books and TV series, Peter Dinklage (1969) is actually a year older than Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (1970). Nikolaj is also three years older than Lena Headey (1973), who plays his twin Cersei Lannister in the show.
• Nikolaj revealed in an interview that he is right-handed, so Jaime losing his right hand in the show also forced him to get better with his left.
• In a 2016 interview, Nikolaj revealed that the death that shocked him the most from the series was Shireen Baratheon.
• During an interview, Nikolaj revealed that he suffered a bruised rib while filming the series. This came when Locke (Noah Taylor) kicked him in the chest. He had a protective thing on his chest but the kick missed it and badly bruised his rib for a while. Nikolaj says that they ended up using the take in Season 3, Episode 4 and his reaction was real.

• For his portrayal of Jaime, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was nominated for two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (2018 and 2019).
