Tysha ended up getting gang-raped on the orders of Tywin Lannister, while Tyrion was forced to watch. Tyrion never saw her again after this happened.

3) What does Tyrion say that the mind needs, similar to a sword needing a whetstone?

The answer is “books” as the full quote is “a mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone”. This came during season 1, episode 2 and Tyrion’s conversation with Jon Snow. This is a reference to Tyrion needing to keep his mind sharp because it is his greatest weapon. This is similar to a soldier keeping their sword sharp in order to kill their enemies.

“You love your children. It’s your one redeeming quality. That and your cheekbones.” This is a quote that describes Cersei pretty well as you can say a lot about her but not that she is a bad parent. She did her best to protect her children and even though her methods were scummy, she did it to protect them. Tyrion was named the ‘Master of Coin’ by Tywin Lannister in the third season of the show. The role of the Master Of Coin is to advise the King or Queen on all financial things. They are responsible for raising coin and they are also in charge of spending it.

7) Tyrion is the self-proclaimed God of two things. Wine is one, what is the other thing?

Tyrion says “drinking and lust. No man can match me in these things. I am the god of tits and wine”. Women and booze are the two things that Tyrion probably liked the most and this is a great quote that demonstrates it. The Casting Of Tyrion

• According to the Hollywood Reporter, Peter Dinklage was the first person cast for the entire Game of Thrones series. Dinklage was also the first choice for the role of Tyrion Lannister.
• George R.R Martin said to Rolling Stone that the entire series would have been in trouble if Dinklage didn’t accept the role of Tyrion.
• In a Reddit AMA, Dinklage revealed that he was an acquaintance of David Benioff prior to being cast and was also a big fan of his writing. Benoff being involved and them being on HBO got him intrigued to take a meeting for the project.
• In an interview with the New York Times, Dinklage admitted that he was very cautious during his first meeting with the producers of the series. He was unfamiliar with the source material and was concerned that it would be a dwarf role with pointy shoes and a pointy beard. After they explained what the character of Tyrion was, he signed on immediately.
• During his Reddit AMA, Dinklage said that he didn’t realize how big Game Of Thrones would be until he saw the internet react to Ned Stark‘s head getting cut off. After this, he knew it was going to be something special.

• Tyrion Lannister was featured in the most episodes out of any other character in the series. Tyrion appeared in 67 out of a possible 73 episodes. That means there were only 6 episodes that he didn’t appear in some form, which is pretty incredible. Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister are all tied for second place, appearing in 62 total episodes each.
• While George R.R Martin has said that he loves all of his viewpoint characters, he noted on his blog that Tyrion is his favorite. He also expressed his frustration that he is always asked who his favorite character is in interviews.
• Despite having the most viewpoint chapters of any character in the entire series, A Feast for Crows did not feature a Tyrion chapter.

Some Additional Peter Dinklage Facts

• Despite being enemies on screen, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) are actually really good friends. In his Reddit AMA, Dinklage said that they would often have to avoid eye contact so they don’t start laughing during scenes.
• During the Reddit AMA, Dinklage also revealed that Conleth Hill (who plays Varys) is the funniest cast member off-screen.
• Dinklage said during his Reddit AMA that he took a lion ring as a souvenir from his time filming of Game Of Thrones.
• During an interview, Dinklage was asked why he thinks that a lot of fans disliked season 8 of Game Of Thrones. He thinks that a lot of fans didn’t want the series to end and compared it to breaking up with someone. He also joked that fans maybe should have waited until have the series to name their children or dogs ‘Daenerys’ or ‘Khaleesi’.

Critical Acclaim

• For his portrayal of Tyrion, Dinklage was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. That means he has been nominated for all 8 seasons of the show. Dinklage won the Emmy award in this category 3 times (2011, 2015, and 2018).
