Cersei Lannister yells “take him” at Tyrion Lannister after Joffrey dies. This is her telling the guards to take him into custody because she thinks he was responsible for Joffrey’s death. Joffrey’s death is definitely one of the most memorable moments of the entire series.

3) Finish this quote from Littlefinger from Episode 3: “Money buys a man’s silence for a time. A ___ in the heart buys it forever”

The quote is “money buys a man’s silence for a time. A bolt in the heart buys it forever”. This comes as a result of Littlefinger having Dontos killed after he rescues Sansa Stark. The idea here is that a dead person can’t tell any secrets, which is why Littlefinger killed him.

4) What does Brienne name her sword in Episode 4?

Brienne names her sword “Oathkeeper” in honor of both Catelyn Stark and Jamie Lannister.

5) Finish this quote from Cersei in Episode 5: “What good is ____ if you cannot protect the ones you love?”

Cersei says “what good is power if you cannot protect the ones you love?” to Oberyn Martell.

6) Which of these is NOT a judge during Tyrion Lannister’s trial in Episode 6?

The answer is Lord Varys. Tywin Lannister, Mace Tyrell, and Oberyn Martell serve as the three judges during the trial. Varys is at the trial but he serves as a witness instead of a judge.

7) Who says this quote to Tyrion during Episode 7: “If I wanted wits I’d marry you”

This is said by Bronn while visiting Tyrion in his cell. Bronn said this in response to Tyrion saying that Lollys Stokeworth doesn’t seem like his type of girl. This was some funny banter between the two.

8) What does Tyrion suggest that Oberyn wear prior to his battle against the Mountain in Episode 8?

Tyrion suggests that Oberyn should wear a helmet prior to his battle with the Mountain. This turned out to be some foreshadowing as Oberyn had his head crushed in the fight. The visual of Oberyn getting his face smashed in is still something I remember to this day. Such a great scene that caught many by surprise (unless you are a book reader).

9) What are Ygritte’s final words before dying in Episode 9?

Ygritte’s final words before dying are “you know nothing, Jon Snow“. Right before that, she says Do you remember that cave? We should have stayed in that cave”.

10) How many times does Tyrion shoot Tywin with the crossbow during Episode 10?

Tyron shoots Tywin twice during the episode, killing him on the second shot. Tyrion’s final words to his father are:

“I am your son. I have always been your son”.

Some Extra Trivia About Season 4

Here are some extra pieces of trivia about the fourth season that we couldn’t find a spot for on our quiz. This includes more about the casting and also about the critical response from the season.

Casting

• Several actors were added to the main cast for the season: Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane) and Hannah Murray (Gilly). They were all previously listed as recurring guests for their previous appearances on the show.
• Pedro Pascal joined the cast for the fourth season as Oberyn Martell. Producers have revealed in interviews that the casting of the character was very tough. George R.R Martin also noted on his blog that he wasn’t at the audition but he heard that Pascal “killed it”.
• The role of Daario Naharis was re-cast for the fourth season. Michiel Huisman took over the role from Ed Skrein, who played the character in season 3. During an interview, Skrein denied the rumor that he left the show on his own accord and called his departure “political”.
• The role of Tommen Baratheon was given to Dean-Charles Chapman for the 4th season. Chapman had previously played the role of Martyn Lannister in season 3 but producers liked him enough to give him the role of Tommen.
• Indira Varma revealed during an interview that she was asked by a friend why she isn’t in Game Of Thrones. She ended up emailing a friend who worked on the show and asked why she wasn’t on it. This led to her getting the audition for Ellaria Sand, where she was eventually cast.

• The fourth season was mostly filmed in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Croatia. The season also took 136 days to film.
• George R.R Martin wrote, “The Lion and the Rose” (episode 2). His books were obviously the inspiration for the series but he specifically wrote this episode for the television adaptation. This was the final episode that he wrote for the series after doing one per season.
• David Benioff & D. B. Weiss wrote 7 episodes in the season (episodes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10). Bryan Cogman wrote the remaining two (episodes 4 and 6).
• D. B. Weiss (showrunner) directed “Two Swords” (episode 1). The other directors were: Alex Graves (episodes 2, 3, 8, and 10), Michelle MacLaren (episodes 4 and 5), Alik Sakharov (episodes 6 and 7), and Neil Marshall (episode 9).
• Season 4 was the most-pirated TV show of 2014.
• The Queen of England visited the set of season 4 but she did not sit on the Iron Throne.

• The fourth season received 19 nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards. That included Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage for Tyrion Lannister), and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Lena Headey for Cersei Lannister).
• The fourth season currently has a 97% rating on the TOMATOMETER on Rotten Tomatoes based on 44 critical reviews. It also has a 97% audience score based on over 6000 votes.
• Four episodes are currently tied for the highest-rated of the season at 9.7/10 from IMDB. That includes ‘The Lion and the Rose’ (episode 2), ‘The Laws of Gods and Men’ (episode 6), ‘The Mountain and the Viper’ (episode 8), and ‘The Children’ (episode 10).
